PAP-Smear

A PAP smear, also known as a PAP test, is a routine gynecological screening procedure used to detect cervical cancer and other abnormalities in the cervix. During the test, a healthcare provider collects a sample of cells from the cervix and sends it to a laboratory for examination. Abnormal cell changes can indicate potential issues, allowing for early intervention and treatment. Regular PAP smears are a critical tool in women’s health, as they help detect cervical cancer in its early, more treatable stages, ultimately improving the chances of successful treatment and preventing the disease from progressing.
